11/25/06
Wow, Thanksgiving came and went! It was a wonderful day, and on top of it a wonderful weekend has started. The weather is beautiful, the house is semi-presentable and we're all reasonably happy after our naps. Ok, there was some crying and screaming for about an hour but what can you say?
Emma is probably the pickiest eater I've ever met (and I know I rivaled her!) What a trial it is to get her to eat something new. She is more stubborn than I remember each and every day!
I just started a new job, I haven't got a clue what I am doing but I am sure that I must be way more organized than I am right now. My boss seems to be great, as I say I really haven't learned much, but it seems so overwhelming right now. The person that I am replacing knows everything. This is not an exaggeration, she's been in the same department for atleast 15 years. I'm sure I'll be at her pace one day, but it will surely take awhile!

I'm still working for my old bosses in the afternoons. I truly love what I'm doing for them and would love to stay but just can't pass up the promotion. When I say I have great bosses, I really mean it. There hasn't been a day when I hated coming in to work. I'm going to hate leaving them when we hire someone to replace me.
But, alas the money calls! Ok, the fact that I'm just itching to make some progress on this old money pit we call home also doesn't hurt. Just to have a house I can entertain in again would be wonderful.
My dogs are so wonderful, they adore the kids and of course, me. It's nice to have unconditional love when you come home. It just wipes most of the stress away. My dogs are older and we have made lots of memories together. Babe is my guardian and my baby - she loves attention and being rubbed down. Duchess would love to sleep under the covers, let her share a blanket with you and she's yours for life.
The cats are very loving, only to us and never to other people. And I really mean that! They love our attention and are there every day to get their fair share. Tigger is the most vocal, Bootsie is the shy one but very affectionate. Samson is quiet but loves his attention (and pretends to hate it). Lastly, is Nova, our poor cat that chewed herself raw. She had beautiful, curly, long hair that is now only long on the top and barely there on the bottom. Poor kitty looks scary but is most affectionate and very persistant in that goal of affection.

The kids are great. What could be better? Mckinley is such a happy baby, he could go on and on, but sweetly smiles and laughs. Oh, what a joy he is. Emma is a flirt of the first order (wonder who she takes after? uh, daddy?) She is the queen at her daycare, and certainly knows it. We've tried to tell the babysitter to be more firm with her, but all Emma has to do is smile at her. She loves being there and loves the interaction with the kids. A bit bossy at times, but at 2 what can you expect?
It's that time again, Mckinley needs to eat and I'm the mommy express! Oh what a joy my family is.
