Another weight check, disappointing news. He's only gained 1 ounce, so we'll have to do some adjusting of his feeding. We are now on lock down with Mckinley and ask that if you have a cold or even a runny nose that you wait to visit until you are healthy. At this point, any kind of infection could delay his surgery. We've also initiated masks to be worn in the house with the exception of Emma. We'll find out next week if the surgery date will have to be moved up. This will depend on his weight, health and their schedule. They are also seeing changes in his Liver, it's enlarged and dropped down some, but it is not liver failure. This was expected as his body is working overtime to do its daily functions. Once his surgery is over, all his body functions should go back to its original functioning. Since he will be having surgery so soon, the damage to his body is minimal and it will bounce back very fast.
This may be a very quiet holiday season, just think everyone wants to do less and enjoy the holidays more - we have succeeded!
On a good note, we went to our church's Pancake Supper. It was great to see everyone and even more realize just how blessed we are to have our friends and family. So if we forget to say thank you for your thoughts and prayers, please know that we are very grateful and indeed humbled by our great fortune.
