OK, I really must share the second installment in the Emma kidisms that I've waited far too long to share...
Em, Kin and I go up to the Children's sermon and as the minister is talking to her she's enjoying this one on one conversation with "God" (another complete story in itself!). He was relaying his kid sermon to Emma and asked her to look at the stained glass windows and to see what was pictured there. She saw the book in the center window and told him, then he asked her what was on the window that was closest to her. She hesitated a minute and he might have assumed that she was thinking about what she would say. Ah... you parents out there are getting ready at your seats aren't you?! You know that isn't why she was hesitating, don't you?
And you know Em doesn't fail! She looks at him as he says there is a cup pictured in the window, and says yes, there is a fly. I just looked at him, thinking, "how in heaven's name are you going to turn this one around"? When she next pipes up, "there are two flies!", I can hear giggling and I'm near to drowning as I can't really laugh with Emma right next to me...
He valiantly tries to save the conversation, but Em is way more concerned about those flies and the fact that they shouldn't be there. In another minute, we are ready to stand up and walk down to the nursery, when she turns to me and says "Mommy, hurry up, we got to go!"
Now, I know that if I wasn't her mother, I would have been crying 'cause I was laughing so hard, but Emma looks at me quite seriously and says "don't laugh at me!"
These kids are the light of my life and seriously I am slowly getting over my nervousness in front of people because of that little cherub.

McKinley is really turning into his own person and is being quite the ham. He, however has this thing with throwing things that has gotten his tiny little butt spanked many times. He loves to pull everything out of the cupboard, canned food, tupperware and lids everywhere! We have finally put a lock on the cupboard after he bruised numerous toes (not just his own) by missing the kitchen table. He does however really enjoy helping to put things away - great, don't you think? OK, here comes the kicker... He grabs out the pots and one of them just happens to be a glass pot. Yep, you guessed it! He picks it up over his head and throws it to the ground - did you know that a glass pot can shatter?! Other things have also come and gone, numerous ceramic mugs, toys, people's heads. Poor little Cooper (his cousin) is the source of Kin's excitement whenever he sees him. That poor kid gets whacked over the head, smacked in the face and in the next instant hugged and kissed. I have to apologize each time we see them as Kin only does this to Cooper. I'm sure he has a reason behind his actions (glad he can't talk or I'm sure it wouldn't be something I want to hear!)
Later, I need to tell you about Em's birthday fun. I'll add the pictures in a sec!
