This is in memory to the most loving woman, friend and grandmother. My grandmother, Estelle Logan Jamieson, has moved on to heaven after a long and glorious life. I can't describe Grandma in one word, as most of us, she had so many things to offer.
My heart aches for missing her so, but I know that she is looking down from heaven and back to line dancing and looking for new friends.
I don't care where we went, it could have been the local store or half way across the world, she met a friend. She didn't care what you looked like, what your circumstance was in life, whether you were the nurse who took care of her, the salesperson at the boutique or the President of the United States, she just enjoyed meeting friends.
Since I was a little girl, I have looked up to and admired the woman that is my grandmother. She still remembers the time (and reminds me quite a bit) about the time her and Grandaddy were driving us to the Ice Cream Shop. I was so excited about going that I kept hitting Grandma on the head and saying "Ice Cream! Ice Cream". Did I say that she just reminded me of this a few months ago?
She believed in education, hard work and lots of fun! Her love of life was evident in everything she did. When McKinley was born, his grandparents came to watch him every day. She loved nothing more than just watching him grow. No matter how tired she was, she would make the trek over to watch that little boy move. She kept him safe and made sure that he didn't get so much as a hangnail on her watch.
Each morning as it got colder and the snow started flying, she would greet me each morning with the words; "I hope you appreciate me, I walked throught the snow and up all those hills just to get here!" She taught Kin many different things, to blow bubbles, stick out his tongue, and how to give raspberries and all with a little grin. She lived to hear her name on his mouth. His first word was "Nana" and she just gloried in that.
She truly enjoyed the little things in life. I could sit down and tell her of my fears and she would tell me that everything would be fine. She would tell me stories about when she was young and where she worked and how "easy" it was to raise her children when I complained about picking up that 10,000 tupperware container. Or the fact that I need to remember to enjoy my kids and work hard for what I want.
Many times someone is asked who their role model is and I so often hear that they look up to this celebrity or that celebrity. I wonder why they answer that way. From the time I was little, I have never had any other answer than my grandmother.
I hope that someday that I could live up to just half the person that lady was. She made life better one day at a time, one moment at a time. Thank you, Grandma for making my life special.
As my nieces wrote on their my space account;

RIP to the greatest person to walk the earth
On February 15, 2008 one of the most loving, caring, amazing lady passed away. She wasn't a famous celebrity, or any person of higher stature, she was my great grandma. In my eyes I saw her as the most amazing person to have ever walked the earth. not only was she wonderful as a great grandma she was wonderful as a friend, stranger, far acquaintance, or just as a human being. I know that not too many people knew her but I would love to have people have her in there prayers as she is up and heaven.
