It's Thursday, and I'm waiting to hear from the Cardiologist's office as to when Mckinley's tentative surgery date is. I'm on pins and needles and can hardly wait! How do people get through this without going stir crazy?!
Poor Mckinley had his first shots yesterday - he took them bravely (what can he really do?) but was so upset all day. Sherry should really get a medal, as he must have cried all afternoon. (As he only cries when he's hungry, it really says a lot for my little one). We gave him some medication at night after calling the doctor's office and he felt instantly better. He and I were up all night because he was so hungry from an afternoon of no eating b/c of the pain and discomfort.
Emma received a Dora the Explorer toy to play in the tub with, she woke up this morning and said to Daddy "I need to get in the tub and play! Hurry, daddy!"
The potty training is going pretty well, she's had a few accidents but we're hoping that it will stick before the end of the year. Whatever happens, happens - it's all geared to Emma's willingness. We've already gotten stressed out about it, but decided it just wasn't worth it.
Last night, Emma ran up the stairs b/c the gate wasn't closed all the way. Brian went racing after her (she sure is fast when she knows she shouldn't be doing something!) , when she got to the bottom of the stairs she tripped over a power cord that was on the floor. She recovers from this and tips over a box and proceeds to trip over this as well. She looks at the box and mumbled something, Brian looks at me and says: "Just like her mother, never looks down to check where she's going". By this time both Brian and I are really laughing and Emma looks up and says "jeez louise"! At least she didn't say any other choice words we've used!
I really remember being told when I was a kid, that to act confident that you should always look where you were going with your head held up high. They didn't say to look at the floor! Poor kid has my clumsy genes!
It's almost the weekend and I can't wait to be able to spend all day with my family. Please pray that the weather is beautiful so we can have some fun!
